The Alfred Cortot Archives documents the rich musical legacy of the legendary pianist Alfred Cortot (1877-1962). Alfred Cortot left behind a vast discography of recordings, editions with advice on interpretation and technique, technical exercises, arrangements, books and articles, and more. Apart from being a busy solo performer, Cortot was also active as a chamber musician (with Jacques Thibaud, Pablo Casals and others), conductor, teacher, and director of the École Normale de Musique de Paris, the music school he founded.
